Taein Song received an Honorable Mention in the “AI x Humanity Competition” held at KAIST DHCSS for her essay titled “When Music Adapts to Us: Restoring Auditory Diversity and Inclusivity Through Personalization Technology." This explores strategies for enhancing musical accessibility and personalization using AI technologies, with a particular focus on DHH population.

Our lab members attended the ISMIR 2025 conference held at KAIST, Daejeon. All students served as local student volunteers. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication!

Seokboem Park has been selected for the 2025 Venture Research Program at KAIST with his project titled "Towards Inbestigating Groove Experience in Gugak".

Eunji Oh, Hyojin Kim, Seokbeom Park, Haim Lee (Intern), and Kyungmyun Lee curated a stage, "UNIVER:US," utilizing real-time brainwave synchronization as part of the X-Space project, a collaboration between KAIST and the Daejeon Arts Center.

Music and Brain Lab invited Prof. Bob McMurray, an F. Wendell Miller Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa, with a special seminar on May 10th. The topic of the seminar was "Decoding the real-time neural dynamics of language processing".

We achieved the research project (Consolidator Grants 2023) by the Ministry of Science and ICT!

Jieun Park presented her work at the HCI Korea 2023 conference.

MuBL members attended the 3rd Yamaha–KAIST Joint Workshop held in Yokohama, Japan. During the workshop, Prof. Lee presented an overview of our lab’s research, followed by meaningful discussions with Yamaha researchers.

Prof. Lee delivered a keynote talk at the HCMIR Workshop, a satellite event of ISMIR 2025. The talk was titled “Understanding the Human Experience of Music to Shape Future Technologies of MIR.” More information is available here.

We achieved the KAIST-MIT Cooperative Convergence Research Projects!

Among the research projects supported by the Professional Manpower Training for VR/AR, 'Research Trends in Virtual Reality Music Concert Technology: A Systematic Literature Review' has been selected as an outstanding achievement. As a result, Youjin Choi presented this research at HCI Korea 2025.
